1999 is the debut mixtape by Bed-Stuy native and Pro Era member Joey BADA$$, released on June 12, 2012. Upon its release, the mixtape garnered critical acclaim. Many complimented its old-school sound and characterized it as a renaissance of the golden age of hip-hop.

It was nominated for “Mixtape of the Year” by BET and Pitchfork gave it 8/10, praising its musical style. The project features guest appearances by Pro Era members, while the production is handled by Chuck Strangers, British producer Lewis Parker, D.I.T.C. legend Lord Finesse, villain MF DOOM, the late J Dilla and others.

The mixtape was released on streaming platforms Apple Music and Spotify exactly 6 years after it was initially released, on June 12, 2018.
