Black Up

Black Up is the debut album of experimental hip hop duo Shabazz Palaces. It was released on June 28th 2011 via Sub Pop Records. Although there are no singles from the album, music videos for “Are you… Can you… Were you? (Felt)” and “An echo from the hosts that profess infinitum” were released, as well as a short film.

It garnered significant critical acclaim from the likes of The L.A. Times and The Guardian. Black Up was also featured in Pitchfork’s end-of-year list for 2011.
