Hot Shot (US Version) is the fifth studio album by Jamaican born artist Shaggy, originally released via MCA Records on August 8, 2000. A UK edition of the album was released on the same day and features a slightly alternate tracklisting. A remix album titled Hot Shot Ultramix was released in June of 2002.
The album was a commercial success, selling more than nine million copies worldwide, making it Shaggy’s most successful album to date.
A total of four singles were released from the album: “It Wasn’t Me,” featuring Rikrok, on July 18, 2000, “Angel” featuring Rayvon, on January 9, 2001, “Luv Me, Luv Me,” featuring Samantha Cole, on May 31, 2001 and “Dance & Shout / Hope" on November 19, 2001.
I’m really amazed that I wrote such amazing songs, and that I wrote such amazing songs still. Those were some of my biggest albums. Songs in that album (Hot Shot) resonated with people. I tried my best to write classic music. It really is classic music.
