Deuce

The D.O.C.

About “Deuce”

While Deuce was billed as The D.O.C.’s third studio LP, his vocals were scarcely featured on it due to an infamous car accident in 1989 which severely damaged his voice-box. Released on Aftermath, the album was produced entirely by Dr. Dre. Dre and The D.O.C. actually argued about whether or not The D.O.C. should appear on the album at all, and when his voice does debut on some tracks, his injury is apparent in the sound of his voice.

To fill in the rest of the time, other rappers like Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Six2, and MC Ren showed support by showcasing their vocals on the album. As such, it comes off more as a compilation album showcasing various artists than it does as a cohesive project by The D.O.C.
