About “Usher”

The oft-overlooked self-titled debut album from Usher was released on August 30, 1994. The album was executive produced by Sean “Puffy” Combs and Antonio “L.A.” Reid while featuring contributions from other R&B stars such as Al B. Sure, Faith Evans, Dave Hollister, Donell Jones and DeVante Swing of Jodeci.

The album peaked at #167 on the Billboard 200 and spawned three singles: the Devante Swing-produced “Can U Get Wit It,” “The Many Ways” and “Think of You,” which was the highest charting of the three as it hit #8 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart.
