Poodle Hat is Weird Al’s 11th studio album.

A new millennium had began at the time, meaning that there were a lot of artists bursting into the music industry scene. Artists such as Backstreet Boys, Nelly, Avril Lavigne and Eminem were all parodied.

We also saw huge step for Rock music due to new bands and how commercially successful their songs were (according to the public).

All of this meant that there was an opportunity for Mr. Yankovic to seize by doing what he does best… Parody, Polka and original songs in the style of a certain artist, composer or band.
