Cam and Mase came up together in the Children of the Corn with Big L as Murda Mase and Killa Cam. By the time Cam dropped his debut S.D.E., Mase was getting ready for his semi-retirement back to Atlanta to be a pastor. Mase did return the next year in 2005 after this album dropped. It may be an assumption, since this was around the time of the Roc-a-fella dissolution, that Cam had erased his alliance with Jay-Z and let Mase know it was safe to come back being that Mase left when his beef was Jay-Z was escalating and his departure led to Jay focusing on other threats such as Nas, Mobb Deep, Jaz-O, Jayo Felony, Bravehearts, Jadakiss and members of Ma$e’s Harlem World group.

Furthermore, Jay and Cam did a song together on the Come Home with Me album called Welcome to New York City.
All sorts of fail:
Cam'ron’s debut was “Confessions Of Fire”, not “SDE”, his sophomore album;
“Come Home With Me” was released in 2002, making Mase’s return THREE years after “this album dropped”;
Cam'ron’s “alliance erasing” (the hell?) with Jay Z did indeed occur around 2005, but that was, again, THREE years after this song was released
Ah well, no one reads these things anyway
