Mike Buffer is the boxing announcer known for the “let’s get ready to rumble” voice. It has been rumored that he is gay but he was married twice and has children.
“Mike Buffers” could also be interpreted as “Mic buffers”, referring back to the “faggots” he’s talking about. He wants to avoid the “mic buffers” or whack rappers, as they might buff his mic if you know what I mean.
This is a triple entendre. Dudes are talking about “boxing” but avoid the Mike Buffer meaning they are avoiding the fight in the ring. Secondly, dudes are talking about boxing, so Joey is saying, we’re gonna avoid Mike Buffer and the ring and do it in the streets. Finally, he’s calling them out to avoid the, play on words, mic buffer meaning to stop talking shit over raps (the buffer) and see him man to man.
