Once we were hungry for justice. Now, with freedom, we are beginning to lose our edge.

And so the daydream begins with our narrator leading the rebels in a fight against tyranny (this time represented by AWKWORD and a revolt against the corrupt US government)… But will AWKWORD’s noble mission remain that way?

The day dream of leading a violent revolution and becoming the new leader continues, with the narrator insisting that if he ruled the world it would actually be democratic.

Many rebel leaders believe this, only to fall into what Paolo Freire’s calls The Pedagogy of the Oppressed, as they, too, become oppressors.

If Sparks closes down, you know NYC is in trouble.

(Side note: I once shared a birthday dinner and dessert at Sparks with my date and Yankees/Red Sox pitcher Roger Clemens and his date.)
