Odd Future’s rise has given way to similar movements, and an embrace of the collective as a viable business model in rap. It’s a bit short-sighted, as the Soulquarians were doing it huge during the late ‘90s.

On the other hand, Earl could be questioning why fans of musicians copy their favorite artists' styles so much. Earl has expressed on Twitter how weird he thinks OF fans are for wearing Golf Wang head to toe.

Earl jogs around his competition, similar to a baseball player hitting a home run. In baseball, the pitcher pitches the ball towards the hitter to start the game. In music, pitches are associated with musical melodies.

He has lost his monotone voice / flow that he used on his earliest records and urges others to change up their music as well.

Along with Odd Future, Earl’s influenced many artists both aesthetically and musically. Others ride on the back of his buzz like a surfer on a wave.

Since Earl has returned from Samoa and begun to find his path in the industry, he has begun to grow apart from once close friends, including Tyler, the Creator:

“That’s my nigga,” Tyler says. “We just aren’t as close as we were. It’s kind of weird, but I’m aware and smart enough to know, okay, shit changes.” Tyler confirms that the duo hasn’t worked on music together since Earl’s 2013 album cut “Sasquatch.” “Shit changes, people get older, people’s goals change. As fucking outlandish and outspoken as I am, I don’t like confrontation. I’m not a piece of shit, man. I’m fair to everyone.”

This track off of Curry’s N64 is split into two parts, the first being kind of dark, with each rapper telling about their dark past.

The second part of the song emphasis violence more than the first, as Curry and Nell tell a story of how these characters botch a bank robbery.

We can also hear the same gun shots in the song “Thug Luv” by Bone Thugs n Harmony.
