An “85er” is one of the 85% as defined by the The Five Percent Nation of Gods and Earths.

They believe that there are three groups:

  • 85% of the people are blind to the knowledge of themselves and God,
  • 10% of the people know the truth but teach lies for their own personal gain
  • The remaining 5% are the poor righteous teachers

It is the duty of the 5% to teach (i.e. civilize) the 85%.

This line was recycled by Jay Electronica in “Exhibit C”.

The “Dip Dip Diver” portion of this line is a reference to the song “Superappin” by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious five, where the original line is read as “Ya gotta dip dip dive, so so socialize”

Being a Republican is often associated with being wealthy, mainly in the context of not wanting to increase taxes and to allow the free market set wages instead of the government doing so.

(To dig deeper, there has been a lot of talk about the government and how they don’t care about Black people… so why would they want to pay more taxes to the government?)

On another note, approximately 90% of African Americans affiliate themselves with the Democratic Party “Black Republicans” are viewed by many in the Black community as traitors, due to the Republican Party’s traditionally overt and hostile policies that affect blacks.

Given that this line comes right after a Supreme Mathematics reference, the pro-black teaching likely means the lessons of the Five Percent Nation. The Wu frequently include references to these lessons in their songs.

Why couldn´t they stop him? Because he is still alive!
