Taking a completely left turn from the beginning of the album, Let’s Go is a high energy song, and Tonedeff’s production matches perfectly. College drum-line samples, hand placed bass kicks, and some grimy synths come together perfectly to create this high energy song.

This is not only a reference to Tonedeff’s birth name, Pedro Antonio Rojas Jr, but it also shows the state of Tonedeff’s success as well. Many of his fans only know him as Tonedeff and never cared enough to know his real name. But on the other hand they know other rappers by not only their rap names, but their birth names as well.

This lack of love for his music is the theme of the whole song, and this line exemplifies the struggle Tonedeff faces perfectly.

The first song on this album features a classic boom-bap inspired beat, intricate looped samples, and an original style of production work so seldom seen in hip-hop albums, Tonedeff’s producing skills are equally as impressive as his bars and verses.

A truly beautiful song, that is backed by production that is just as beautiful. Tonedeff crafted together a sweet and lush instrumental complete with piano, drums, and amazing acapella work all done by himself.

Indicud was the first release we’ve seen from Cudi where he has handled all of the production by himself, and Young Lady exemplifies his surprising skill as a producer.

The primary sample heard throughout the song is a sample of folk artist Father John Misty and his song Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings

The slow-driving folk ballad was taken by Cudi and was sped up. The atmospheric percussion found in the original song was left by Cudi, who additionally and added his own drum fills and slowly crosschecking bass lines to create a fuller instrumental.

As well as directly sampling the song’s hook, Kid Cudi also added harmonizing vocals to the track that sound reminiscent of the original’s harmony work. A guitar solo is also added by Cudi midway through the song to complete this spacey sounding love ballad.

Putting your hands on your hand is always made in sheer moments of disbelief, which is understandable for Alabama fans who saw:

  • Cade Foster, their top rated kicker, miss THREE field goals from 43, 28, and 44 yards.

  • The team set a record for the longest touchdown in Alabama history with just minutes left in the game.

  • Alabama’s offense fail to score twice from inside the thirty-five yard line.

The return doesn’t even have to be mentioned at this point.

But, it was bound to happen:

Humans so often spend their lives struggling away trying to make money and surround ourselves with possessions and desires. Yet, why do we spend our who lives struggling for these items when they all become useless to us after our deaths?

People in the world today tend to have a similar mindset to that of the ancient Egyptians who believed one’s possessions could be brought to the “afterlife” if buried with them. However, if this has been an abandoned way of thinking, why do we still continue to live up to this belief by collecting possessions our whole lives?

These lines help to show the type of girl Oddisee was dating. Despite her age, she lived a life of someone much beyond her age. She rarely uses social media, which is rare for a female of her age. Her behavior differences are to such an extent that she was even unsure what the slang word “ratchet” meant, showing she doesn’t quite keep up with modern times, seeing as the word has spiked in popularity over the past few years.

This old-styled nature is one aspect of her Oddisee finds so irresistible.
