Gravy is present in many southern foods, like chicken fried steak (which is great with gravy and mashed potatoes). Along with the name of the first chapter being ‘Grits’ and the woman being referred to as creole shows that there is a very distinctly southern element in the story.

Also, in Chapter 5, we learn that Central Park (“Upstairs”) is surrounded by “Nano-Gravy”

Wild Canyon—Knuckles' first stage(and the 2nd in the game overall) is a desert-style meadow, overrun by sand dunes, ancient hieroglyphics and statues. It is here that Knuckles begins his mission to find the pieces of the Master Emerald once more, and retrieve them for repair.

There are paintings that lead to secret rooms, ponds where wildlife can thrive, and most of all, an enormous wind pocket that lifts Knuckles out into the medium-sized exteriors.

For the first time in Sonic’s history, 2001’s Sonic Adventure 2 features vocal themes for its Action Stages, in addition to themes for each of its characters. While Knuckles the Echidna is no stranger to the hip-hop motif, composer Tomoya Ohtani and lyricist Hunnid-P(a.k.a. 100P) collaborated to bring a rap song to each of Knuckles' emerald hunting stages, reprising from the original Sonic Adventure.

The level has a dark atmosphere and is generally gloomy.

Hunnid is also saying that because it is so dark it is difficult to find the shards of the Master Emerald, the goal of the level.
