Now, he unpleasantly hangs out to the great times in their relationship. The sweet memories of what used to be great are now only memories washed into non-existence.

He’s incredibly hurt by the breakup, so nearly everything, even things that are seemingly unrelated and unromantic, remind him of her. She was simply beautiful. “Behaving like a coon” is an allusion to pushing modern-day black stereotypes like selling drugs. The stereotyping and glamorization of it is shoved down the throats of the public everyday, and dominates a majority of Hip-Hop airwaves. He regurgitates-or vomits- the bullshit and turns into some of his most genuine work.

Now he hangs on the painful fact that the good times he had with this girl are now distant memories. Every picture/good time they’ve shared has been washed into nothing but a sad memory that can never come back. The blackness of what used to be good will have an everlasting affect on him.

He bids a genuine, but painful farewell…knowing the girl will find the love she deserves, but he wonders why can’t she give him the chance to give that love to her.

If things were equal at this point in time for people of any color in the south, she’d be able to express and display the musical and personal passion she wants to give to the world. But the Jim Crow laws of the south did its best to hinder that, and overall it succeeded in making blacks look socially, mentally, and personally inferior to whites.

He refuses to end up hanged for his crimes like this (even though these two were most likely innocent):
