Here, STEEZ could either be talking about his actual family or his rap family, Pro Era.

  • You might be cool (shining), but since STEEZ is gold, he shines brighter

  • “Ay, you” is not simply a way to get one’s attention, it is also the scientific symbol for gold (Au). This reference ties in perfectly with the central theme of the song (47 elements).

STEEZ is always going to show up and outshine his competition. Similar to the way the Sun (son) outshines all the other stars.

Women would rather have their hair and nails done, wear expensive clothes, and drive expensive clothes than buy basic necessities such as food and shelter. This is also a shot at Kreayshawn’s track Gucci Gucci.

Steez is saying that nowadays, girls care more about the glitz and glamour of expensive fashion instead of little things that matter in life. He also refers to Kreayshawn’s track Gucci Gucci where she talked about how girls care too much about expensive name brands.

  • “MIA” is a term used by the US Armed Forces to describe someone that is “missing in action

  • “DOA” is a term used to describe someone that has been pronounced dead upon the arrival of a physician. This also makes reference to the title, “Dead On Arrival”

  • “DOA” is the abbreviated term for a video game called Dead or Alive hence the “no games” part

  • Since Steez isn’t playing games with his music, his CD is going to play whether he’s still part of the rap game, dead, or alive.

Everything STEEZ did, he did for him and his boys in PE (Pro Era).

It’s dope, or “cool” that STEEZ is makin music for and with his friends. “Dope” is a slang word to describe drugs (usually heroin or marijuana) so that’s why fiends (drug addicts) will pay for it (his music). This line also implies that since his music is dope, his fans are addicted to it like drugs.

Notice how STEEZ says “with everything I DO it’s PE all day” and then goes on to spell out the word DOPE.

In the 90’s, the infamous beef between rappers 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G. changed the rap game forever. The beef spawned numerous rap classics, but it also resulted in the deaths of two great artists.

Steez is currently listening to ASAP Rocky, swing jazz (as you can tell by his heavily jazz-influenced beats, and possibly Gym Class Heroes.

This ties into the next line, as “gym class” is often referred to as “PE (physical education)”.

“PE” stands for the rap group STEEZ is part of, Pro Era.

STEEZ is describing his musical stylings. He is a conscious, new age underground MC, with a “Jazzy Ambiance” and plenty of musical influences.

The supervillains line is a reference to MF DOOM, who called himself the Supervilain. Pro Era is heavily influenced by DOOM.
