I had promised a promoter at the club, (Jessica)– because there had already been a couple of incidents and it seemed like everywhere Nas went was gunplay somewhere around.

[Ralph]
[Those the little guys.]

[Faith]
Yeah, the little guys. And everything was going fine. I said, it’s Ralph, it’s gonna be fine. Don’t worry, we’re gonna shoot it and be in-out. And everything was fun up until the very end. Somebody shouted ‘Queens Bridge’ and then you hear pump-pump-pump!

And he was standing like, right next to me.

[Faith]
Yeah, and I’m under a table, and even then I’m like ‘I’m too old for this shit!“ I mean, the cash registers got robbed!

I called Nas that whole night, cussing him out. Because I knew it was somebody in his crew. And he was on the stage.

[Faith]
It wasn’t him, but I knew he knew who it was.

[Ralph]
He had to. And it was too close, my ear was ringing still. He didn’t call me back for two days then he hit me like “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry!”
