Andrea Yates was first convicted of drowning each of her five children (one was 6 months old at the time of death so the famiy picture isn’t recent to the tragedy) in the bathtub in a Houston suburb on June 20, 2001. Since then, her murder conviction has been overturned, she has been found not guilty by reason of insanity on retrial, and she was placed in a state psychiatric hospital
