Bishop was the main character in the movie Juice. Played by the late Tupac Shakur. Bishop was rebellious and an urban version of Dennis the Menace mixed with Billy the Kid. He was hungry for power and “making it to the top”. He was clearly brainwashed by too many Mafia and gangster movies

It’s a sad but true fact that most kids these days listen more to, and have more inspiration, towards the artists they listen to rather than the parents.

Damien is suggesting that if they don’t listen to the parents maybe they’ll listen to him and heed the words he is saying to them. What a powerful message.

Underdogs, those exiled by societies definition of “normal”, who struggle on a daily basis just to see the next day. Or basically those who have that “I don’t give a fuck” attitude and will do whatever it takes to get what they want, even if that means causing you harm.

Cypress Hill has got the finest bud in town. How good is there bud? Can’t you take a hint?

Bitch try sniffing it

This can be seen as a double entendre:

  1. As a threat: Bitch try touching my bag of weed and I’ll cut you

  2. Or as a simple questioning initiating a challenge: I dare you to sniff my weed, and TRY to handle the high.

Everyone has haters, no matter who you are and what you do there will be haters in your lawn. The best thing that you can do is not submit to their bullshit and even thank them for their ignorance and not believing in you so in the end when the shit hits the fan they will see the success you have drawn into your life while they are selling water by the highway. You all know those cliche sayings that has populated the swagfag community, “Haters are gonna hate” and “Haters are my biggest motivators

Just like Nas is to AZ, Common is to Mos (now Yasiin Bey). Their styles almost look like they feed off each other. They are like counterparts (A person or thing holding a position or performing a function that corresponds to that of another person or thing in a different area).

DMX is known to show spontaneous dislike for Jay. The DMX and Jay-Z beef is one of the most unsung and underrated beefs in Hip Hop.

“I don’t have a problem with him,” he said after a long pause, “but we ain’t high-fiving in the locker room or chest bumping.” One fan on Twitter then posed the ultimate question: Would DMX and Jay-Z ever put their differences behind them long enough to collaborate? “Anything’s possible,” was X’s response. “I won’t be the one to say ‘no’ or stand on something ignorant like ‘No I will never’ – that doesn’t make sense. I don’t see it happening, but anything’s possible.” (MTV)

Former Murder Inc. Records CEO Irv Gotti revealed internal tensions between X and Jay existed in the mid-1990’s.
“Jay and X did not like each other at all. And it was always competitive,” Irv revealed. It all stemmed from an early battle, circa 1994, between Hov and the Dog, years before any one of them broke through. Though DMX was used to winning most of his battles decisively, nearly every account of the showdown revealed that it ended in a tie. “X hated Jay because it was the one battle that he said it wasn’t absolutely sure in everyone’s mind that he won,” Irv said. (RapFix)

In the past, jailed rapper Ja Rule said their competitive nature between one another kept a super-group from forming.
“We tried to put [the Murder Inc. group] together, but it didn’t pan out,” Rule said. “I think egos got in the way of that whole situation. But you’ve got to understand that that’s hip-hoip, too. N*ggas are competitive. I think [DMX] and Jay[-Z] were so competitive [that]…real talk, we couldn’t even get [them] in the same room because of their competitive natures and what they had been through before that [with] – the legendary battle that they had on the pool tables up in Uptown with the guns out.” (The LIFE Files)

Gymnasts use a balance beam to sharpen their balance and do graceful movements and flips (usually to impress judges and family at big events)

DMX’s life has always been one of pain and struggle. He even confessed that he was continually abused by his mother on a daily basis. As he matured, he did (and still does) what he can to amend his ways, reconcile his past and look forward to a new day but it looks like whenever he gets close to seeing the light and putting his life on that balance most people have, his old demons (and usually the media) spoils his image thus making it hard for him to perform gracefully in life without having people judging him and his family not being present at his big events to cheer him on or even console him so he ends up like the picture below. Amazing analogy by X right here

“That’s why I hit these motherfucking streets at night”

The streets are all he knows. that’s where he feels his home is. Kind of reminds me of this song
