He’s been rapping since at least 1993, since his debut Canibus hasn’t left us. He’s continuously put out material since 98. The material he came back with was important to him, the albums weren’t done with the sole purpose of gaining wealth. Canibus used to address the truth (See: Channel Zero) to impress us. He still addresses the truth but not to impress us now, he does it to free his mind & share his own perspective with us.

He cherishes the Golden Age of Hip Hop but the present is ignoring him.
This line could have multiple meanings…

1. The media/blogs don’t care for his actual music, this is evident in his interviews. It always ends up being about his past beefs, rarely ever about his present material.

2. He doesn’t quite fit in with these “new age” rappers so he may feel like he is being ignored because he isn’t conforming.

There is still hope for the future of Hip Hop though.

Canibus references the sliver cord & tree/flower of life. These are keys words for Astral Projectors, This kinda gives away the whole complexity of the song. He’s speaking of an Astral Projection experience he had.

When you Astral project there is a sliver cord attached to that body/energy, it’s there so you don’t get lost in the Astral Plane

Our experiences in the physical realm are simply reflections of our core-self. If someones core-self is out of balance or confused that will show in there physical lives. His core-self is brought out in this track.

He believes the Cosmonauts/Elohim will come down & save us if humankind can co-exist with all other races/genders/etc. Pretty much is we can stop the wrong things we do (War, Rape, Racism, Theft & many other things) the Gods will save us.

This raises the questions though, if we can do that….what exactly would they (The Gods) “save us” from?
I believe “save us” means for the Elohim to take us or teach us into higher levels of consciousness.

He is not going to speak from or interpret the Absolute , instead he is simply giving/sharing his own thoughts, ideals & beliefs with you & he wants to make that clear.

He is just a vessel, vessel referring to his own physical body….with raw energy. Energy being spirit or soul.

In others words, he is not a physical person with a spirit but rather a spirit/soul with a temporary physical body (vessel).

Elohim is Hebrew for God/Gods, in this case (And in most cases with Canibus) he is referring to extraterrestrial beings/entities & how they believe in us. Ancient Alien Theory, he believes these extraterrestrial beings created us. Which is why he refers to them as the Elohim.

Our leaders/world leaders (Presidents, Prime Ministers, Secret Organizations) shouldn’t deceive the people. We give them high positions in our with the hopes of creating a better now & a better tomorrow. In some cases these leaders are corrupt & do unreasonable things but Canibus won’t do that.

Canibus was obviously a believer in the whole Y2K/doomsday theory. There were many different scenarios for the Y2K event. The most popular one had to do with technological disasters/mishaps. It seems Canibus was a fan of the “Jupiter Effect”

A play on words, he switched Swine Flu to Swine PLOO. PLOO is an abbreviation for Poet Laureate Infinity. PL stands for Poet Laureate, the OO is supposed to resemble the infinity sign (∞).

PLOO is an infinite song, it’s very complicated but genius. The song can be mixed in an infinite amount of ways. It follows a pattern similar to this… Hundred Thousand Billion Poems

Rip, Canibus’s alter ego, is referring to the radio station cypher that Funkmaster Flex set up in 1998. In said cypher, his alter ego Rip made his first appearance (Known to the RG editor group).

Rip is the more aggressive & lyrical side of Germaine, he had to make an appearance to keep up with DMX & Nore, his competitors. The cypher went on for more than 30 minutes with no intermission or commercials, and was set up by flex with none of the contestants knowing.

Fun side fact: Big Pun & Fat Joe were in the car parking lot of Hot 97, while the cypher was taking place. Pun & Joe wanted to join in on the cypher, but for whatever reason, weren’t let into the radio station.
