Borax is a white mineral that is sometimes used to make glass and ceramics (in reference to the last line).

In this line’s context, Boric Acid is a compound that can be created from a reaction (here the term “flexure” is used) between sulfuric acid and borax.

Another Dr. Seuss reference, this time to How the Grinch Stole Christmas. A money reference alluding to how dollars (or pot) and the Grinch are the same color.

This is a reference to the previous “Elephant” line. In the Dr. Seuss children’s book Horton Hears a Who, the main character is an elephant named Horton.

A person’s a person, no matter how small

This is a play on the title and story of Dr. Seuss’s book, in which Horton represents the record labels and tiny planet of dust called Whoville. Horton helped the Who’s gain recognition within the jungle to ensure their safety. The label he chooses, is going to do the same for Vizzy.

Elephants are very large creatures, and have very thick skin (in a literal sense). In a psychological sense, thick skinned can mean “not easily insulted,” or “tolerant.”

This line sets up a reference to Dr. Seuss’s Horton Hears a Who in the next line

Also an “elephant in the room” is an idiom for the obvious truth but is usually ignored or never addressed even if people realize it. He knew he was good and feels the labels did too but never wanted to sign him because he didn’t make the cut for mainstream music that would make them money.

A frequently discussed topic among rappers happens to be dollars. Discussed here, here, and a HELL of a lot of other places in rap, this topic is one that rappers very much default to.

Also, this is wordplay on dollars and change. Obama’s campaign slogan was for change, but in this case change can also mean “coinage.”

Possibly a shout-out to the Crips. They call each other ‘cuz’ the same way Bloods call each other ‘bro’. In addition, Crips rock on the left side — Bloods on the right.

More likely, this is just a reference to how weed is normally passed to the left.
