Think Freddie Kruger; the psychopath that walks into your dreams bringing nightmares along with him.

Notice how he says “WALKING in a psychoPATH’s nap”

A reference to the opening line in Ice-T’s Colors: “I am a nightmare walking, psychopath talking.” But he’s also drawing the double meaning of the Freddy Kruger idea that everyone is exploring.

I think Lu was saying He’s like the Freddy Kruger if Freddy were to fall asleep and have a nightmare. Similar to the line where he compared himself to the calm after a storm and having the same fury the disasters have. He has a way of looking at shit from an odd angle, he likes to fashion himself as equally powerful of the bad, but working for good… terrorizing the psychopath.

Reference to the All City Chess Club and also Chess itself, in the a game of Chess the King, of course, wears a crown and is the most protected and valuable piece, lose the king and you lose the game.

It’s a breath of fresh air to see the rap “game” being compared to something nerdy and intellectual and not just physical or muscular capabilities.

Enter the Ninja was the first famous song by, the newly popularised over the internet group, Die Antwoord

Just like Jean Grae, this “futuristic rave/rap”, as they call themselves, band’s hometown is Cape Town, South Africa.

“enter that, ninja rap” acts as a segue into the next line. The “ninja rap” is Lupe Fiasco referring to him being one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Ninjas are known to be deceiving and efficient in what they do, as is Lupe in his raps.

With the obvious New Orleans Saints reference, Wayne pays homage to a classic couple of bars spit by Biggie in Juicy
“Way back, when I had the red and black lumberjack With the hat to match”

Nas brought forth the idea that Hip Hop is dead or dying in one of his most recent works “Hip Hop is Dead”, the controversial statement polarized many on the issue.
Wayne references this sentiment and takes it a step further by using this song as an extended metaphor for his work on “resurrecting” Hip Hop with his bosslike talent. The ‘patient’ being fixed up by Wayne throughout the song IS hip hop.

It’s also a reference to “Hip Hop Saved My Life” by Lupe Fiasco.
