A chakra is a focal point in your body through which energies are transmitted; they’re prevalent in yogic and tantric Hindu and Buddhist tradtions. “Phantom of the chakras” is a reference to Phantom of the Opera, a novel by Gaston Leroux about a man that “haunts” a theatre. Jay, on the other hand, haunts people’s energy centers apparently.

Jay also mentions being “phantom of the chakras” on “Shiny Suit Theory,” which features Jay-Z. But, Jay’s first recorded mention of being a chakra phantom is in a freestyle done with DJ Green Latern at Rock The Bells 2008.
