An urn is a container for storing someone’s ashes. Earl spits such “hot” lyrics that the results should be stored in an urn. Earl also pokes fun at himself again by mentioning his lip size, which was also made fun of by the Odd Future crew on the intro track, “Thisniggaugly.” He also calls himself a similar name on the title track, “Earl”:

Stop screaming, bitch, you shouldn’t be that alarmed
When Big Lips is in the attic, armed with an addict’s arm

The end of the line sounds almost like Earl is saying “Burt and Ernie,” which connects to the Muppets references through these lines, as he shouts out Kermit the Frog and Ms. Piggy, using them both as metaphors. Kermit represents Earl’s ability to rap, while Ms. Piggy represents other rappers, as Earl dubs them “puppets.”

Tyler closes out his debut mixtape Bastard with the most honest, literal, and heartfelt rendition of the album’s main theme—his father leaving him.

The title refers to the Tarantino film Inglourious Basterds.

Once Earl fought back against the teasing of his friends and peers, they gained respect for him. The intro to this album, “Thisniggaugly,” is a prime example of Earl fighting back, as he answers their ridicule with a very impressive track.

On his Formspring, Earl talks about the other members of OF picking on him when he first met them.

Tyler’s alter egos are talking amongst themselves here.

Tyler’s first album, Bastard, was mainly centered around his father issues. Tyler has now “had enough” of that side of himself, and is moving forward.

He has claimed many times that he believes in continual progression; so you can bet he won’t be the same Tyler on his next album Goblin (which Sandwitches will appear on) that he was on Bastard.

Yasiin Bey, (born Dante Terrell Smith) formerly known by his stage name Mos Def, is an actor and hip hop artist from Brooklyn, New York. He is one of the founding fathers of conscious hip hop and half of the duo Black Star. Beginning in 2012, he ditched his stage name Mos Def in favor of Yasiin Bey, saying:

I began to fear that Mos Def was being treated as a product, not a person, so I’ve been going by Yasiin since ‘99. At first it was just for friends and family, but now I’m declaring it openly.

He made his musical debut in 1998 as a part of Black Star (see Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star), and then released his first solo album in 1999, Black on Both Sides to widespread acclaim.

In Islam, Jesus is considered a prophet, not the Son of God, as most of Christianity renders him. Muslims pray to Allah alone, whereas most Christians pray to Jesus (interpreting him as a member of the Trinity). Islam forbids praying to prophets, and such acts are considered to denigrate Allah rather than praise him. Tyler must’ve done something powerful to have this effect.

A “weave” is any kind of artificial/real hair piece that girls wear to supplement their own hair. Tyler alludes to the fact that black girls don’t have the self-respect to wear their hair naturally

Tyler is trying to say is that when black girls get in fights they end up losing their weave and having to retrieve it in the lost and found.
