*note from Jean – “I said Shropshire Slasher the way I used to say it as a kid…”

This makes sense, since the Shropshire Slasher is a villainous character from a well-known, Sherlock Holmes based, Looney Tunes short

Like the last verse, Em is bumping his non-woman-friendly album Relapse, probably to annoy his female passenger. He was criticized for using accents on the album.

“Bagpipes from Baghdad” is a song on Relapse in which he makes fun of Mariah Carey and her then husband, Nick Cannon.

You can also hear a sample from “Bagpipes from Baghdad” in the background.

Many rappers, notably Lil' Wayne, use “going in” as an expression meaning “to rap really well.”

Em thinks the expression is a bit silly – he would rather extend it to describe his style as “going insane”, when he gets into that creative zone where the winds of his brainstorms begin to blow.

Also note in the literal sense, that most people go inside during a storm, but in his case he’d prefer going insane. Which is also what people tend to be called if they remain out during a storm.
