The old phrase doesn’t hold true: words do hurt.
When someone insults you, it’s only natural to feel a whole lot of anger.

He could further be implying that there’s truth in what the person is saying – he feels close to hell for what he has done

Fab uses the metaphor and uses another classical element to describe emotions: he used water in the previous line, and now he uses fire.

A lot of guys keep talking about their bling/expensive jewelry. It’s definitely gonna get a girl’s attention, because they love that materialistic shit.

Years later, on the Slaughterhouse song, “Weight Scale”, he shows his dislike towards jewelry.

I hate jewelry and authority the same
So how the fuck you think I feel about a chain of command

A phrase coined by the Black Eyed Peas to show that they’ve seen “Dirty Dancing”. (It’s the PG way to say “dirty bitch”)

On another note, this introduces a really random, weird transition. Is this the part where people are supposed to “get dirty”?

Hmm…

Fear often keeps the society quiet, and people are sometimes afraid to stand up and speak for what’s right —mainly due to some of the backlash associated with it.

For example, Kanye West infamously explained on MTV regarding Hurricane Katrina, the obvious differences in the media between Blacks and Whites. More specifically, how Black people “loot” and White people “look for food” when they’re doing the exact same thing. Kanye spoke from the heart and did what he felt was right.

One of 2Pac’s famous lines is in the song “Hail Mary”:

What do we have here now?
Do you wanna ride or die?

And now, there are several artists who came out with songs entitled “Ride or Die.” Some artists who fall under this category include JAY-Z, Xzibit, DMX, and B.G.

If 2Pac was still alive, what do you think the rap game would be like right now?

Nowadays, most rappers talk about how they live in the ghetto, and how they’ve been through a lot… or how they’re straight up “thug” or “gangsta” and whatnot…

Tupac Shakur is arguably one of the greatest rappers of all time in terms of creating imagery of the streets of the ghetto. He inspired many people to get into rap, and talk about the things he most notably brought up in his raps.
