These stats are so bogus. Jordan and Bryant faced off 8 times in their career, but there’s no way you can compare the way the played in those games.
The first matchup was in 1996 when Kobe was in his rookie year. He only played for 10 minutes and scored 5 points. Jordan on the other hand played 47 minutes and scored 30 points but also shot 10/32 from the field (Yet Kobe is the ballhog?).
The second and third matchup were in 1997, Kobe’s sophomore year. In the first game Bryant played 13 minutes, scoring 5 points again. Jordan played 40 minutes, scoring 27.
In 1998 they played once, Kobe put up 20 in 26 minutes while MJ scored 31 in 37 minutes. Things start to even out, but the two wouldn’t meet again until Jordan would return to the NBA in a Wizards jersey.
From 2002 to 2003 they played 4 times and Kobe scored a triple double in the first game, (23pts/10rb/15ast) while MJ scored 22pts, 5rb, 6ast. The next game Jordan played only 12 minutes and scored 2 points so I wouldn’t really account for that.
The following game Kobe scored 27 points in 38 minutes and Jordan 25 in 30 and led the Wizards to a win.
The last game between the two was played in 2003. Kobe scored 55 points while going 9-13 from 3. Jordan scored 23 points on the other hand.
Jordan had better numbers when the Bulls were one of the best teams in the league during the mid 90s and Kobe couldn’t really keep up because he was playing 10 minutes a game. In the 2000s Jordan was already with one foot out of the door and Kobe was in his prime, and you can definitely see the difference in the numbers.
TL;DR These stats are useless because they compare two champions in completely different times of their career.
