Insert Justin Tuck. The former New York Giants captain (and leading pass rusher) Offseason Overview: Oakland Raiders by SneakDisser (Ft. Sports Genius)

FEAR THE MASK

Tuck was one of the most beloved players in New York in the past years; other than being a huge presence on the field, he was also very vocal in the locker room, bringing the team together during tough times.

Even though the Giants struggled last season, he still managed to put up big numbers. He closed the year with 11 sacks, 63 tackles and 1 interception.

The market in which we participate is intensely competitive, and if we do not compete effectively, our operating results could be harmed; IPO Filing by Box

Major Box competitors in the collaboration space include EMC, IBM, and Microsoft. On the cloud sharing front are Google Drive, Microsoft’s Skydrive Pro, Citrix ShareFile aaaaand of course, Dropbox, its most oft cited competitor.

Box’s strategy to “compete effectively” is to exclusively court businesses, often those in industries with stringent regulatory requirements (think health care, financial services, and education). Box intends to build a sustainable business by becoming the only compliant cloud storage (through their encryption and more complex user roles) for companies. In short,

Box focuses on sharing and collaboration of files for business clients. Nobody else really does that well with the kinds of controls businesses want. And no business wants Google mining their data for advertising.

Imagine enjoying a court side seat at a game Post on Oculus VR Acquisition by Mark Zuckerberg

Facebook will probably have to collaborate with Google in order to achieve this since they don’t have the technology in terms of video to offer top-notch quality content. Other than Glass, Google has plenty of hardware to use in this kind of situation, like the cameras they used for Street View which can be easily mounted on people, giving the audience at home a better experience.

Facebook on the other hand would need to start a brand new department to do everything on its own. Google also has more experience in this field: they used Glass in the past to give people at home a first row view at a Manchester United game and a first person view of a NBA game.

#4 UCLA 76 - #13 Tulsa 59 2014 Tournament Bracket by NCAA Basketball Men Div I

U-C-L-A, FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!

The Bruins controlled the pace of the game for the whole time, taking an early lead thanks to Adams, who scored 21 points and dominated the offensive board with 5 rebounds. The Cali team led 59-54 with less than 5 minutes in the game but the defense was able to keep Tulsa to only 2 baskets for the remaining of the game. This is the first time since 2008 that UCLA won the 2nd round match, after appearing in the Final Four 3 times in a row.

I would like to thank the Eagles and the entire city of Philadelphia. I was honored to be their quarterback and took the privilege to heart every day. I especially want to thank Jeffrey Lurie and Andy Reid, who gave me the opportunity. Farewell to Philadelphia letter by Michael Vick

Vick joined the Eagles in 2009 season, in which he played as a backup for Donovan McNabb and threw only 13 passes. After McNabb was traded to the Redskins in 2010, Vick took the starting job, scoring 57 TDs in 4 seasons with Andy Reid.

In 2013 an hamstring injury kept him on the sideline for most of the season and Nick Foles took the starting job. Chip Kelly made it clear that even if Vick were to return to full form, he’d have started Foles over him.

Throughout his time in Philadelphia, Vick developed an extremely close relationship with Andy Reid. When Reid left to Kansas City, Vick showed his appreciation, saying:

I’ll never forget the opportunities that had been given to me by this organization and by Andy Reid. Andy Reid is a guy who will go down in history in my book as one of the great coaches of all the time and one of the greatest men I’ve ever met.

An independent and unfettered media is an essential element of democratic Statement on Twitter Blackout in Turkey by US State Department (Ft. Ilhan Tanir)

The media situation in Turkey is chaotic. According to Engelliweb there are 40,900 blocked websites in Turkey. The blacklist doesn’t follow explicit rules, but websites are usually blocked for either religious or political reasons.

85% of the mainstream media (TV, newspapers etc) is controlled by private businessmen, which have no interest in antagonizing the government. This leads to strict self-censorship of news that makes it impossible to educate the population about what’s going on in the country.

Hundreds of activists, students and journalists connected to the KCK Network (which is affiliated to the PKK) have been incarcerated after voicing their opinion and many more have been threatened or censored. This has led to widespread protests in various cities, demanding uncensored news and free access to the internet.

Diversity of public voices. Statement on Twitter Blackout in Turkey by US State Department (Ft. Ilhan Tanir)

The situation hasn’t always been this critical in Turkey: Obama chose it as his first destination in the Middle East in 2009, reflecting the widespread belief that Turkey’s healthy democracy could work as a role model for adjacent countries (Iran, Iraq, Syria, to name a few).

Since then, there have been widening investigations involving corruption within the government. This led to the resignation of AK Party members, the same party that in 2011 proposed a new civilian-based constitution.

Since then, the situation has been moving towards hegemony of the executive branch of the government, which is compromising the relationships between Turkey and the Western world. The Turkish people don’t support this change; a MetroPOLL showed that the population is pro-democracy, but they’re not allowed to voice their opinion through votes due to the high amount of corruption.

Social media sites could be shut down. Statement on Twitter Blackout in Turkey by US State Department (Ft. Ilhan Tanir)

Twitter users in Turkey posted voice recordings and documents on the social platform purportedly showing evidence of government corruption. During the protests against his government that followed, Turkey’s Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan called Twitter “the worst menace to society” and threatened to block access to the platform.

On the night of March 20th, Twitter was blacked out in Turkey. Elections will be held on March 30th in the nation and the blackout will probably stand until that day, if not for longer.

Also relevant is the role that Twitter has played in past protests, even going so far as to delay scheduled maintenance in order to be online during protests in Iran. Making tweets like these possible:
