One of the few tracks (along with the “Everyone Nose” remix and “Don’t Stop!”) to be released by the super-group Child Rebel Soldier. People have been begging for an actual album from them for years, instead we got a watered down LASERS and a collab with Jay-Z by Kanye.

The song samples piano elements of Thom Yorke’s “The Eraser” and uses the song’s chorus as the hook.

Brett Favre and 3 Stacks are both ‘old’ guys in their respective fields, but both of them are still among the best. At the end of the 2006 season, questions were raised regarding Favre retiring from the Green Bay Packers but he ultimately came back in 2007 to show that he “still got it,” just like 3 Stacks is doing by ripping up this verse. Mentioning Favre could also be a nod to this being Number 4 in the series of “Da Art of Storytellin'.”

Dre claims he “started off starvin'” meaning he was a “hungry” artist just looking for an opportunity to be heard the same way Brett Favre had to start his career as a backup and prove his worth. After both reached high levels of success, they had to show people that they could still compete with the best of them.
