FiO opens the track up strongly, making an immediate impact as he speaks about death. It is in this second line in which FiO relates to Jack, being that he is in an aspiring writer as well. More importantly this line references the overall amount of violence that takes place within the movie itself in which it appears he is comparing his emotions to.

The Shining is about Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson), an aspiring writer, who accepts a position as the off-season caretaker of the isolated historic Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies.
The hotel had a previous winter caretaker who went crazy and killed his family and himself.
