Sam Adams' growth actually produced the current market for beer ingredients found today. Before the craft beer explosion, ushered in a large part by the company, ingredients went to very large brewers, cutting off the ability for small brewers to source, obtain, and modify basic ingredients. Now, hops can be ordered online, ingredients feature thousands of varieties, and potential growth is expansive.

Any single impurity can not only dramatically shift the final taste and feel of a beer, but also lead to serious health complications. Because brewing requires a long period of fermentation, encouraging bacteria growth, a non-sanitary bottle will grow a culture of potentially dangerous diseases. There is no exaggeration – clean has to be clean.

Sam Adams founder Jim Koch hustled his beer from bar to bar, selling it by the establishment. His success, and beer empire, did indeed start from a single batch – Jim rode the wave of new craft beers that make the early 1990s into a rich beer culture.

Kurt Cobain is playing with assonance—or, the repetition of a vowel sound to create internal rhyme—perhaps in order to underscore the prevalence of nonsense in most mainstream music.

This is regarded as one of the most interesting sections Cobain ever wrote. The repetition of “hello” sounds rather simple; even dumb or silly. A slight change in pronunciation becomes a typical, depression-oriented Nirvana line, with “how low” likely being a commentary on Kurt’s mood.

An alternative interpretation points out that “hello” becomes “hollow,” just like the average artist’s method for lyric-writing relies on basic repetitions, or catchiness over meaning.

This mimics federal law, which requires the posting of wage standards and employee rights on common employee spaces. In unionized jobs, this non-regulated signage, not required by federal law, is often present. It is not, however, found in most Walmart stores.

While you can see the hills sometimes, and know what sits at the top, not everyone has the gas to make it. Unless you drive and grind for success, you’ll never have the ability, “octane,” to reach the stars.

In a typical, but disappointing move, Walmart is continuing an industry-wide tactic of estimating hiring based on store capacity, not actual hiring characteristics. The retailer, in the past five years, has demonstrated a 13% growth in new stores, while boasting only 1.4% growth in hiring over the same period. For Walmart to actually provide 1,800 jobs would be completely out of line with its past behavior in every other market.

Walmart faced continual and significant protest when proposing a move into D.C. Since the people, without a full petition, could not significantly oppose free market construction, Walmart was allowed to build. This was not a unanimous decision – a Washington Post poll at the time found 50-50 support.
