This was a highly contested game between the Buckeyes and the Boilermakers. Neither team was able to put the game away until Ohio St. prevented a Purdue basket in the last second of the game.

Purdue was without two of their role players off of the bench and lost freshman guard Basil Smotherman to a leg injury in the second half. However, they never gave up and played a gritty game of basketball. They lost the rebounding battle in the first half, but they came out aggressive and pumped up winning the battle on the boards 27-16.

It came down to the last seconds when A.J. Hammons put the Boilermakers within one. Craft and Smith Jr. only went 1 of 2 from the charity stripe and thus gave Purdue hope.

Ronnie Johnson was then fouled at a shot attempt; making the first free throw and intentionally missing the second one which went out of bounds, after being reviewed for a long time, off of a Buckeye. Unfortunately, the Boilermakers were not able to take advantage of this opportunity.

With his senior season cut short due to a knee injuriy the Nebraska offensive guard does not have the numbers to make his evaluation an easy one. A first-team All-Big Ten and second-team AP All-American selection in at the end of the 2012 season still show that there is a big upside to this player. He is a very effective pulling guard where he puts his athleticism on display and shows the footwork to seal off the edge for outside runs. In pass protection scenarios he tends to sink his hips and let defenders get by him with counter moves.

Despite the depth at WR in this year’s draft, Quincy’s size will make him an intriguing option for some teams. Quincy logged a respectable 12 touchdown catches as a senior, including a 99 yard'er.

Stanley started his career at Nebraska as a wide receiver but moved to cornerback while redshirting the 2010 season. SJB has the physical tools (size, arms etc.) of a linebacker and the speed needed to play in the backfield. He comes with great instincts giving him the ability to be a factor in stopping the run game and is also comfortable in pursuing in the quarterback blitzing.. Jean-Baptiste has seen action in various defensive schemes at Nebraska giving him a certain familiarity with both man-to-man and zone coverages. One of his weakpoints is his ability to wrap up and tackle players and the fact that he keeps his eyes in the backfield too long and thus getting beat.

Obviously size is the selling point for SJB, but he is lack of experience at CB might require some extra training sessions to get him to elite level.
