2) He doesn’t have the money to eat anything else
3) Both

Santa, the jolly fat man who is apparently represents the joy of Christmas is more of an urban legend in a place like Chance’s neighborhood of Chatham, because no matter the time of the year, life is always gloomy down there.

Chance wants to be able to one day put his family in a nice tower apartment. He also uses word play on “twins” and “tower” to allude to the Twin Towers in NYC, which fell when attacked on 9/11.

He’s acknowledging the fact that he’s a ‘dad’ to Gambino. “Motherfucker” and “dad” are literally the same thing.

Plus, he’s also saying he’s fornicated many times.

These lyrics are reminiscent of refrains from the TPAB track “You Ain’t Gotta Lie (Momma Said),” wherein Kendrick raps

Askin' “where the hoes at?” to impress me
Askin' “where the moneybags?” to impress me

In the former track, Kendrick decries mainstream rappers who name drop expensive clothing brands, make reference to how much money they have, and other braggadocious lyrics. In this series of lines, however, Kendrick connects himself to being a part of the problem, identifying this as a “universal callout” and certifying his membership to that club of mainstream rappers who act this way. In such an ironic twist of fate, Kendrick employs one of the first examples to demonstrate why looking to him as a perfect, infallible savior is misguided.

“I can members only that” as a form of behavior might also be a reference to “Blow My High (Members Only)” from Section.80.

Kendrick evokes longtime business partner and co-founder of pgLang Dave Free, suggesting he bought a new car just because Dave did. Kendrick makes a similar reference on “untitled 02 | 06.23.2014.” from untitled unmastered.:

Dave just bought a new 911
Almost thought I’d seen another plane crash

By paying “lottery for it,” Kendrick suggests he paid in full, the same way a lottery player can take their winnings in a lump sum, versus in installments, or “in portions.” Kendrick is wealthy enough that he can buy a luxury car in cash.

Childish tweeted out a link to the screenplay, formatted magnificently. However, the tweet has since been deleted.

An entire film script inspired and soundtracked by each of the 19 tracks on the album, Because The Internet.

The 72-page script shows off Gambino’s TV writing/acting chops and follows the life of a character simply known as “The Boy” (played by Gambino himself), exploring his family dynamics and relationship with technology, high points and heartbreak. Each of the album’s tracks corresponds to each of the script’s scenes. Some scenes are even supplemented with actual short clips.

(via Consequence of Sound.

The script stars/features artists and friends such as Donald Glover [Childish Gambino], Famuel Rothstein, Jo Swank, Stefan Ponce, Milsa T, Ludwig Goransson, Jhene Aiko, Rick Ross, Chance Bennett [Chance The Rapper], and Steve Glover [Steve G Lover].

All 72 pages of the screenplay are annotated on Screen/RapGenius:

Gambino made an ‘internet version’ of this screenplay; telling an entirely different story using the same clips.

Everything will run it’s course, so it’s pointless to be patient and wait for something coming right for you. It’s surprising Bino would go against emojis after it’s usage in his screenplay and lyrics.
