Interestingly enough, poetic justice is an actual literary notion, in which virtue is ultimately rewarded (or vice punished) often by an ironic twist of fate intimately related to the character’s own conduct.

For example, Wile E. Coyote always sets traps for Road Runner, but ends up in them.

Essentially, it means to live life in adherence to karma, in a sense—that whatever happens to you is earned through the deeds you perform, whether positive or negative.

Another entendre:

There’s a movie called Poetic Justice, starring 2Pac and Janet Jackson (which is significant because Janet is sampled in the track and Kendrick feels he is carrying Pac’s legacy).

Another interesting fact: Maya Angelou acted in Poetic Justice for an important scene. Between scenes, she encountered a young 2Pac in an altercation with another man on set. She would have a profound influence on him, as she broke up the fight and took him away to speak with him privately—much as she does for Kendrick and his friends in “Sing About Me, I’m Dying of Thirst.”

When Kendrick’s girl comes up to him from behind, she doesn’t have to talk. He knows it’s her just from her aroma.

Notice the use of one of his notable phrases “Hol' up,” in a different context.

He also has the ability to pick out high class women based on simple surface observations such as her scent, touching on the studied fact that smell is our most evocative sense.

To get this line in the context of the song (and the album), this is Kendrick freestlying like he’s 16.

A statement concerning the misconceptions rappers/guys have about what it is to be a man: the size of your dick (ego, self-importance). In this immature time in his life he’s PRAYING for a huge dick. He sincerely wants to be a man, but all he really knows about man-hood is having a big dick.

Metaphorically, Kendrick praying for a huge dick, is him praying for that respect and thus endurance, to last. If the size of your dick garners respect (in this case in the industry), then a dick that lasts 72 hours is to an artist that is respected for decades.

Moreover, Kendrick refers to “72 hours” in HiiPower. Kendrick could also be referring to the 72 names engraved on the Eiffel Tower.

Interesting fact:

the Eiffel Tower is 324.00 m (1,063 ft) tall, and the Earth is 7,926.41 miles (12,756.32 kilometers) in diameter, so his dick would be 0.000025% of the ‘length’ of the world.

Kendrick riffs on the phrase “money, power, and respect.” The word “respect” comprises the end of one line and the start of the next, adding that it’s his intellect that deserves respect.

“Lead” is used as a homonym alluding to both a shower of lead (bullets) and lead from his pencil.

Another example of this is in Ab-Soul’s track, “Black Lip Bastard,” which features Kendrick:

Lead shower, Anna Pebble hour bitch, stand the rain

“Respect My Mind” is a Hot Boyz song from their album Guerrilla Warfare. Kendrick has stated that he is a fan of theirs.

Lueders Park is a Park in Compton, across North Bullis Street from Church’s Chicken, both locations also bordering Rosecrans Ave. It is mentioned prominently in “Keisha’s Song (Her Pain).” .

Note that Kendrick says this in a ambiguous tone which makes it sound like looters, which would make sense since he is generally showing off. Also “church’s” ties in with previous bars reference to Jesus Christ.
