Canibus is referring to Mike Tyson, who was a very strong fighter, and a heavy hitter as a young boxer.

Fun Fact: Tyson was even proclaimed the hardest hitter in boxing, ever!

Anyway, Tyson was a very powerful boxer back in his heyday. In fact, he won his first 17 matches all from KOs and TKOs (Technical Knockouts)!

Need I say more?

Lesson of the Day: Be careful, otherwise you’ll be at odds against Canibus, and he will break you with the power of a young Tyson. Not a fun experience.

Just to reiterate my warning.

C! True Hollywood Stories is the third studio album by the rapper Canibus, released through Archives Music on October 30, 2001. The album is Canibus' first release on an independent record label (his first two albums, Can-I-Bus and 2000 B.C., were released on Universal Records). The album was named after the television show E! True Hollywood Story. This album sets itself apart from his first two albums by seemingly being a concept album, some songs rapped from the perspective of Stan, the fan from the Eminem song “Stan”. It can also be noted Canibus' rhyme style and flow resemble more that of Eminem than the style presented on his first two albums, which led to mixed reviews from the public.

2000 B.C. (Before Can-I-Bus) is the second studio album by rapper Canibus, released on July 18, 2000 through Universal Records.

Considered to have been a significant improvement over his debut album, Can-I-Bus, 2000 B.C. featured multiple record producers and greater differentiation. On the title track, Canibus blames the commercial failure of his first album on the bland beats by Wyclef Jean whom he severed ties with to team up with various producers, ranging from Ty Fyffe to Irv Gotti. Allegedly, rapper Eminem was to be featured on the track “Phuk U”, but turned down the offer.

Universal Records was reportedly underwhelmed by sales of the second release (the album was bootlegged heavily before the release), and the label’s contract with Canibus was terminated following the release of 2000 B.C. The album’s only charting single was “Mic-Nificent”, which peaked at number 23 on the Hot Rap Singles chart.

Canibus is wondering about what would have occurred if the South were to be the victors in the Civil War?

There are some obvious outcomes that would’ve occurred:

But I believe Canibus is thinking beyond that, as in not just the continuation of slavery, but who would’ve been the next president? Or would the South have then conquered the North? Would African-Americans have still earned their freedom even under southern rule?

Canibus is trying hard to imagine it all….

He’s rich enough to pay in full, so there’s no need to split the bill. In other words, Yung Lean (now that he can) got his friends' backs, tying into the previous “bros before hoes” bars in the beginning of the verse.

Also note the play on splitting bills, in that Yung Lean both can financial support his homies, and he’ll also make sure they always got something to eat.

Don’t think it’s rapid fire? Check this out:

Eminem spits 1720 syllables in less than 5 minutes (300 seconds). That’s an average of 5.85 syllables per second!

Check the original math backing this up here, you’ll be a believer once you see it yourself.

Rip the Jacker released back in 2003, still fresh from the attacks of 9/11 in America. Canibus name drops Guantanamo Bay, which became America’s detention center for extremely dangerous criminals and terrorists, and most detained under the War on Terror were also specifically sent to Guantanamo Bay.

Therefore, if you had a Muslim name, or in other words was suspicious of being a terrorist and danger to America (just cause you looked like a ‘terrorist of course’), the government could easily arrest and send you to Guantanamo Bay where you were treated terribly and tortured.

While the ‘mainstream’ might forget about Canibus and his lyrical ability (as seen by his lack of sales after his debut album), in the end, literal history will remember about Canibus because it’s already been recognized and archived about his abilities.

To exacerbate is make something worse.

So Rip (Canibus) is saying that those who hate on his alter-ego Rip the Jacker only show poor taste (in terms of music choices) and make their fate worse. It is implied that their fate is then complete annihilation.

Yung Lean taking after 2Pac, using 2Pac’s last alias, Makaveli. The alias is a reference to Niccolo Machiavelli, Italian philosopher and author of The Prince.

Yung Lean loves making these sort of references/interjections relating to rappers he loves, in this case using 2Pac’s name for himself before he begins the song.

The album on which the alias appeared on.
