I call it “electric chair music” because I think of it as the kind of music that you want as the last thing you hear.

Incidentally, also the name of the next album.

We laughed entirely too much at Khrysis' ad lib on this.
He’s hilarious and we got a chance to really play around on this album. Skits and all.

By the way, This song is actually from the unreleased “Phoenix” album, coming later this year (2012)

“Scrumtrulescent” was a word made up by Will Ferrell while playing James Lipton in a SNL bit.
Hilarious.

Playing around with the excuse that some people use when they cheat of “it just happened!”
Which, of course, is ridiculous.
No, man. I think we’re all responsible for our actions.

So a sarcastic “I didn’t mean to be this good, it just happened” is pretty funny…to me…

Whatever

In the fetal position would be a really unfortunate time for a dude to pee on himself. Really, really unfortunate.

Sometimes just going into record stores and seeing my vinyl or cd on the rack, really made it all worth it.

Most notably in this song, I was remembering the countless times I hung out at Fat Beats NYC.
Much love to the love they showed me over the years.
Fat Beats, we miss you.

Asylum/Asylum.

In this context, I use asylum/asylum to say that I need a facility for the insane to protect me from the rest of the world. Instead of being committed, I would ask them for shelter.

I definitely take a lot of pride in never repeating the same pattern, or flow on a song. It makes things more challenging.
Sometimes, my flows and patterns don’t seem to connect or, make sense.
I use them to do different things.
Always to create an emotion, sometimes for tension, not necessarily for the sake of rhyming.

I think patterns and rhythms can create and relay experiences and be used to invoke feelings that you don’t know are really coming from that source.

Whether it’s something that feels disconnected or uncomfortable, or something that’s strung together in a more connected fashion, it’s always very intentional.

It’s something I focus on a lot.
