Maybe weed isn’t for him…
Maybe he’s just doing it because he thinks he’s supposed to or because he can’t stop or because he wants to “fit in”.

He’s so caught up in his own weed-induced introspection, depression and anxiety that he quietly sits there, not even speaking to his own friends; behaving as if he’s surrounded by strangers.

Being stoned makes him feel like everything he says or does is weird/wrong in some way…

Jonny is known to be excessively paranoid (a trait which is often linked to depression and social anxiety), feeling that everybody is out to get one another and nobody can be trusted. Needless to say, being high makes him even more suspicious of the people around him.

He’s ashamed to show that he’s going through depression and even more ashamed to show that weed seems to be making it worse, but deep down he knows it’s no secret and everyone can see it on his face, hear it in his voice and read it in his twitter rants…….

Although being so high is having such negative effects on his mind, the only thing Jonny can think of to tell anyone he speaks to is that he’s really stoned…

Jonny realizes his thoughts are leading him down a dangerous path to possible drug addiction.

When he’s around his friends, they are usually smoking weed. Although weed is seen as a stress reliever, it doesn’t do anything to help him snap out of his introspection and often leaves him in a worse state than when he was sober and impairs his ability to communicate because he has so many thoughts going through his head.

The line “And I got so many questions, might get these answers from ‘Ye” is a double entendre:

A) It’s a reference to the infamous Kanye West interview

B) “Lle” (pronounced “yay”) is short for “llelo” (pronounced and often mispelled as “yayo”) which is Spanish slang for cocaine; Jonny is saying that maybe the answer to his communication problem/introspection/depression is cocaine

Jonny suffers from depression and often gets lost in his thoughts.

This inevitably leads to him trying to find anything or anyone who can take his mind off of his problems, while seemingly disregarding how dangerous that thing or person may be to his physical and/or mental well-being.

I changed my name because the name Jonny K. is too common
(If you search twitter you’ll come across a bunch of random people named Jonny/Johnny K)
There’s also a producer named Johnny K
Basically I wanted to avoid confusion and also have a name that isn’t so basic…

“Jonny El Rey” translates to “Jonny The King” or “Jonny King”
which is tecnhically still “Jonny K.” and therefore the album title “JFK.” (Jonny Fuckin' K.) still makes sense
