In religions such as Christianity, life is essentially a “test”. At the end of life, you learn how you did through your Final Judgment from God. If you “pass”, you get eternal salvation and entrance into Heaven. However, if you “fail”, you get eternal damnation in Hell.

XO notes, however, that if you don’t believe in God, your path is already chosen for you and that you’ll spend eternity in Hell.

Oddisee knows that he’s not perfect, but nobody is and everyone has their downfalls. But, if it were a crime, he’d be more likely to get away with it in 48 hours, since the chances of the police solving a crime go down significantly after that timeframe.

This is also a reference to the film 48 Hours, released in 1982 and starring Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy in one of the first “buddy cop” films.

Oddisee’s really bothered by how the relationship with this person is going, it’s really eating him up inside and leaving him unsatisfied, so he keeps trying to talk to them to make himself feel better about it.

Oddisee’s intent is to make sure that him and all of his friends make money together. He’d rather do it as a “team” than all of them on his own and “eating” on their own, separate, plate.

Oddisee takes a second here to once again lament about “American Greed”, as he says that people went from building these amazing structures to trying to get rich quick and screw over other people in the process through pyramid schemes.

Pyramid schemes are basically where somebody sells another person a product with little-to-no value and instructs them to sell it to another 10 people. Eventually, nobody wants to buy the product anymore and you stop making money, while the people at the top of the pyramid make the most of anyone.

After lamenting that politics has plenty of corrupt, law breaking people involved in it, Oddisee also points out another area of the country that is quite shady; stocks.

Insider track is defined as being “the trading of a public company’s stock or other securities (such as bonds or stock options) by individuals with access to non-public information about the company.”

Essentially, it helps those with access to the information know whether to buy or sell a certain stock and make money of it. If Oddisee wanted to, he has a friend who works on the trading floor buying and selling stocks who has access to inside information, which would allow him to get insanely rich.

One of Oddisee’s interests in life is politics, so much so that he wouldn’t mind making a career out of it, but unfortunately, politics are so corrupt, that he’d likely wind up having to “make a deal with the devil” to get the roles he desires.

Oddisee references the figurative “bridge” again here as when people move past a disagreement they had, they usually say that’s “water under the bridge”, indicating they’re no longer mad about it. However, the fights between Oddisee and this girl get so heated that there’s no moving beyond it, the scars will always be left.

Also a pretty creative line as the way he uses “fire” and “fight” could either be equating the bridge between them being burned OR that when they fight, it’s like war and they’re in the midst of a “firefight”.

Pretty clever line as Oddisee says that as he’s talking to this girl, he’s smoking some weed and blowing the smoke out, just like a car muffler would blow out exhaust. This ties in to the fact that he’s now feeling “exhausted” because of the issues he’s having with this girl.

Here, Oddisee thinks that maybe he should slow down and stop talking for a minute, because his words are coming out of his mouth so quickly that it’s like water running out of a faucet.
