This song seems to be Eminem’s final attempt to reach out to his mother and apologize to her, because as she nears death, he wants to re-connect with her and allow her to see how much Hailie Mathers, Eminem’s daughter, has changed since they last saw each other.

The fact that this line is repeated and continues on from the end of the first verse might suggest Em wrote this in a continuous train of thought or at least plays on the idea that he’s writing this with urgency as seen in the ‘jet’ reference below.

This is also Em’s apology in reference to “Cleanin' Out My Closet” – specifically the lines “And Hailie’s gettin' so big now; you should see her, she’s beautiful; But you’ll never see her – she won’t even be at your funeral”. Now that he thinks her funeral is approaching, he now regrets that statement.

As parents get older, their children are forced to watch them slowly slip away. Now that Eminem’s mother is at this stage of her life, he regrets hurting her so badly all those years ago with his music. As she’s dying, he wants her to finally know that after hating her for so many years, he and his half-brother Nathan forgive her.

Em never missed an opportunity to take a shot at his mother, most notably on songs such as “Cleanin' Out My Closet”“ and ”My Mom."

Of course, Kim has been the target of hateful lyrics as well, but Em’s mom was target #1.

Rumpelstiltskin is a fairy tale about a man who lies that his daughter can turn straw into gold to make himself seem important to a king. Eventually, through the help of an imp-like creature, she is able to successfully turn the straw into gold.

Eminem is saying that he was not given much when he came into this world (straw), but with a bit of help, he was able to turn that into success (gold).

The second half of the line, “JUMP, I will spin” is referring to Russell Wilson’s top highlight play of 2013 was when he jumped and spun in the air to turn a huge sack into a touchdown pass, or in essence, nothing into something. This relates to Rumpelstiltskin as he turns straw (nothing) into gold (something).

The line indicates that instead of waiting for something great to happen, he’ll make it happen.

Also it’s about paying, because Rumpelstiltskin made a deal with the girl to get her first child in return. She wants to give him all the money in the world, but he takes her child. As Eminem is often regretful about they way Hailie was brought up, it could be about this theme too.

This line is initially from a freestyle from Eminem’s Microphone Freestyle on Tim Westwood TV.

Typically, clinically insane people are put into a straight jacket to prevent them from harming themselves or others and Eminem freely admits that, yes, he’s insane, but that’s just who he is and he’s fine with that.

Until his vision becomes a reality (his vision mentioned in the previous line), Eminem will continuously bring his A game lyrically to murder other rappers and claim his title as the “King of Rap”… or as he likes to claim now, a Rap God

Eminem used rap as a means to express himself and let out all of his anger. Eventually, this turned into a success after his track, “My Name Is” blew up and his major label debut, The Slim Shady LP became a huge success, Em has previously referred to being signed by Dre as hitting the lottery.

Em uses onomatopoeia, pronouncing “wooh!” in a high-pitched voice making it sound like a coal train “blowing steam.”

The high pitched onomatopoeia may also be a reference to the noises Bruce Lee makes while fighting.

Loose leaf refers to the paper Em scribbles his rhymes on

Bruce Lee is very well known as a master martial artist. Thus, Eminem’s goal when becoming a rapper was to be seen as a master lyricist.

(Bruce Lee is also considered one of the greatest inspirations to Hip Hop culture. KRS-ONE goes into more detail about it on his website, particularly on his page, “The Temple of Hip Hop.”)
