Ehhhh, not really, no. Mandela was born in Mvezo, South Africa where his father was the tribal chief. However, they were kicked out of there due to colonial tension, and Mandela has moved a whole lot of times.

However, he currently resides in the wealthy suburb Houghton Estate, Johannesburg. That said, Johannesburg used to be one of the murder capitals of the world in the 90s. It was so violent that they even put up CCTVs on every street corner in 2008.

Wrong, this is Dave Chappelle pretending to be Nelson Mandela. Dave Chappelle is a well known comedian who dropped out of the media spotlight circa 2008. Nelson Mandela was an anti-aparthied militant in racial South Africa. He was sentenced to 27 years in jail, all of which he served, and once he was out he decided that he still hadn’t had enough of the good fight and decided to make South Africa a fully representative democracy. And then he became president of that democracy too. Oh, and did I mention that he won the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize? Yup, that pretty much sums up Nelson Mandela.

Here is an obligatory picture of Mr. Chappelle in one of his most iconic sketches:

And here is a rather flattering picture of Mr. Mandela:

Another well known hip-hop posse, though a lot of members are also part of the neo-soul movement. Talib Kweli himself is a part of it, along with other prominent artist from the alternative hip-hop movement such as Yasiin Bey, Q-Tip, Common, ?uestlove (of The Roots), and J Dilla.

Unlike the Native Tongues posse, this crew can actually manage to fit themselves in a picture:

Kweli and Hi-Tek have long been affiliated with Native Tongues members, especially Mos Def. Their earliest collaboration was Fortified Live in 1997 which featured Mos Def. Kweli would later go on to form Black Star with the Native Tongues' member and release their critically acclaimed eponymous debut. Various collaborations between Native Tongues' members and Reflection Eternal have been recorded since.

Also, it’s kind of hard not to bump into Native Tongues seeing that they have roughly 22 members and a whole slew of affiliates.

Here is an ill-conceived attempt to try to fit in the Native Tongues posse into a picture:

Talib is bashing the economic conservatives who employ austerity policies to cut down government debt which often accumulates due to war. These austerity policies cut down public programs such as schools, healthcare, and food stamps which leaving the unprivileged without a safety net to fall back on.

This tends to piss off the general population. Here’s a good example (Greece 2012):

Even the interwebz doesn’t take kindly to these policies:
