Martin Luther King Jr’s most famous speech was “I Have a Dream” while John Lennon’s hit song Imagine covered some of the same principles.

The irony is that they were both assassinated for being too peaceful.

In many Indian religions, nirvana refers to a state of liberation. Confucius inspired many of those ideologies even though he was BC.

Mohandas Gandhi was a true advocate for peace and nonviolence, who also was assassinated because of this, and raised Hindu.

Kurt Cobain was the frontman for a band that shared the same name, Nirvana. Though they had much success especially with songs like Smells LIke Teen Spirit, he shot himself in the head in 1994.

I used Karma, another Indian principle, to describe the irony in this. And a play on spirit where Cobain referred to emotion and I refer to a posthumous soul

Superbowl XLVI featured a commercial where a new Hyundai raced a Cheetah and won. I kept thinking how unrealistic and anthropocentric that is; more unjust.

This couple of lines links together the idea of The Road Not Taken, which tells of Frost’s dilemma at a fork in the road and choosing originality and Sylvia Plath, who was another poet that committed suicide.

A continuation from the previous line where the word ‘right’ gets flipped into a different meaning.

It basically says that the inspiration in my writing comes from all over.
From the peace advocates to the radicals, they all excite me.

This poem mentions a few of my favorite dead, inspirational people such as van Gogh & Poe.

One killed himself in an asylum while the other’s death is still a mystery to this day (however suicide is a suspicion), respectively.

And it also links to the previous line because Poe was baptized.

Charles Darwin was the father of evolution,
he wrote the On the Origin of Species which discussed his ventures in the Galapagos Islands.

And even though today creationism is looked at as the opposite of religion, Darwin was actually a Christian.

Hence, we all evolve. Whether or not we (believe that we) come from the same place.
