My mom told me a while back that Will Smith said he’d only make songs his mother could listen to. I’m not Will Smith but this is a song I’d hope my mother could listen to and enjoy.

This is a shoutout to my group LiveWest ENT and our devotion to hip-hop.

Most artists will get this one. I’m often on the streets promoting my music and it can be extremely difficult. You have to get creative to open paths of communication.

This is a slight dig at folks who try to nose their way into your smoke session. Not that there’s a problem with that, just there’s a right and a wrong way to do it. Some people do it wrong. And some people you just really don’t want putting their lips on your blunt. Those people are called fiends.

I don’t change my bars up very often when I write them, and when I do that’s the last edit. So, in other words, “nothing changes twice when I write”.

Smoke one while I spin these stories about where I’m from.

My mother is from Louisiana and my father is from Alabama, but I’m from California. So while much of my family sounds southern when they talk, I do not.

The last part is a reference to the lineage of homo sapiens beginning in Africa. We’re all family.

I’ve done everything except accomplish my goal (winning), but I’m too proud to quit ever.
