How do you move through life? Do you move strong and confident (potent), or weak?
This line is a reference to a line from the classic rap track “La Di Da Di”:
And with your wrinkled pussy, I can’t be your lover
Ludacris not only says the line, but manages to imitate Slick Rick’s flow as well
G Roberson runs Hip Hop Since 1978 (HHS78), the meme production company that signed Kanye.
(G (middle) with Kanye West and Spike Lee)
Jay-Z was a dope boy himself until he channelled his hustler mentality into success in the music industry
Since Jay-Z went from hustler to millionaire, his type of success seems attainable for other hustlers (i.e., not a pipe dream)
The phrase “pipe dream” is derived from the hallucinations of smokers of opium pipes in the 19th Century; here, it is a double entendre for the crack smokers who the hustler serves
In math, a matrix is a set of numbers or symbols. Hoes, watches, and just about everything else are presented as faceless and replaceable for easy consumption
They probably got 30 of these matrix-bitches programmed there.
Possibly a double entendre? Pusha seems to pronounce “hoes” as “O’s”, which could of course refer to Pusha’s drug dealing background of moving ounces of cocaine. Moving ounces would make him a “balla-nigga”. This also matches with the binary code of 0’s and 1’s that is the backdrop of the matrix. Binary code is one of the most basic programming codes, which could also relate to Pusha’s line before where he says “You should leave if you can’t accept the basics”
In mathematics, a matrix is a set of elements represented in a series of rows and columns. Pusha-T references that there are plenty of hoes (a play on rows) in the balla-nigga matrix.
A reference to Wayne’s line in Stuntin' Like My Daddy:
What they doing? Hating on me, but they never cross
Cash Money still the company and bitch I’m the boss
Cam is referring to murder: say goodbye to your friends and family, and commit murder or be murdered
It’s word play from the previous lines, because a D is the lowest passing grade, so he barely passed.
A reference to the Babyface song “Whip Appeal”:
Potentially bitten from Pusha T
