A star in both the ABA (American Basketball Association) and NBA, Malone was dominant for close to 10 years.
Malone signed with the 76ers prior to this season after winning the season MVP in Houston in 1979 and 1982. By moving to Philly, and winning the MVP again this season, he became the first NBA player to win the MVP award in consecutive seasons with two different teams, a feat only matched by LeBron James in 2009 and 2010.
This year Malone was named an All-Star for the 6th straight year, made the All-NBA First Team and the NBA All-Defensive First Team, and led the league with 15.3 rebounds per game.
