One of my colleagues showed me his art after finding it on a design blog. His paintings work well with the heritage of the brand but are abstract enough to make them feel different from anything else we’ve done with space exploration. Since we’re always looking for new ideas for our BBC flagship exclusive releases, it was a perfect fit.

Michael Kagan is an artist/painter from Virginia who created the abstract prints you see in the collection. The vivid prints fit in well with the BBC aesthetic, as their logo is an astronaut.

A reference to the previous line regarding Jay Z. While the Jay Z and Nas feud was bubbling, Jay Z was on Rockafella records. Referring to that, Tyrant asks why you’re so yella? (Meaning cowardly). Accepting peace and positivity should always be #1 priority yo!

HOL' UP!!!

Some references here sun.

So ya’ll know the beef between Nas and Jay-Z right? Well that all seemingly ended when Jay signed Nas to Def Jam recordings. Tyrant is saying he’ll put even the most fierce enemies together with his peace, under the same roof!

Also, note the Umbrella reference. This refers to Pusha T’s lyric from New God Flow and Rihanna’s hit song featuring Jay; Umbrella

They said Pusha ain’t fit with the umbrella
But I was good with the Yay as a wholesaler

He implies he’s wholesaling peace through his rap!

He gives poor, confused members of society peace, hence the puzzled pieces. This also refers to his intricate raps. Tyrant ain’t no one to fuck with when it comes to complexity!

Once again a clever play on the piece homonym. He clears up that people aren’t coming to him for a drug fix but rather the word of God. In this instance, piece can mean:

  • Peace as in, God’s peace.

  • Piece as in, the popular item of jewellery. A Jesus Piece!

Playing on the previous line regarding the Pope, he further implies his position of peace around the world. However note the double entendre!

Fiends for the piece; as in, everyone wants his peace, he’s such a peaceful person that people come for it far and wide like a drug fiend looking for their fix!
