My mom never bugs me for grandkids, she’s like “take your time.”

I told Yukimi the concept: I wanted “Festival” to be this heaven metaphor and for her to play God. I like God being a female. The only way we can get the world back on the right track is to embrace the sacred female.

We built a society that pushes down women and pushes up men, but really women are a lot better than us. We’re just kind of messes and run through the world and like “Ughhh, I have a penis.”

I wanted her to be God welcoming me into heaven and letting me know that everything’s gonna be cool. She loved the concept and what I was saying. The whole Little Dragon band played on it, too.

“Festival” is a metaphor for heaven. The album ends in a sequence: “Ascension,” “Jump,” “Festival.” You stand up, then you jump. Then you’re in heaven. I don’t know why all my albums end in death. I guess because that’s what happens in life.

A lot of that time period I was in a dreamlike state. “Jump” is like getting out of it. I’m like lost in this insular world i’ve created for myself. This little bubble.

I’m a big Bill Murray fan and “Lost In Translation” was one of his movies. I met him one time at a golf tournament. I got to play the Bill Murray invitational. I was like, “I gotta do something that’s gonna leave an impression on Bill Murray so he’ll remember me.” So I got this $6,000 bottle of wine at this hotel. I always get into something where I’m spending stupidly, for a while it was red wine. So I brought the $6,000 bottle to Florida, I see Bill Murray walking and was like, “Hey man, just wanted to give you this.” And walked away. I was trying to out-Bill Murray Bill Murray. As I’m walking away I hear, “holy shit.”

I’m actually kind of friends with his son, so I hit his son like, “Has he opened it yet?” He’s saving for a special occasion.

When I made “Jump,” I was like, “Holy shit, I made a hit record.” It came naturally—I didn’t try it just happened. But it’s not just a hit record, it’s a song that has a lot of emotion.

It represents a lot of what’s happening with me right now, even though it’s the oldest song on the album. It represents a lot of what was holding me back for the past couple years.

“Jump” is an opportunity to just say “fuck it”—that’s what I want the song to feel like. That’s why the song has the instrumental breakdowns and gets almost dancey, because I want that song to feel like letting go. I want it to feel like something different than what I usually do. I want it to be alive.

This is one of the best Chief Keef verses ever. He snapped. Keef is the homie. We’re about to do a lot together.

Since I’ve been in N.Y. I eat a lot of halal. My girl is like a halal addict. It’s all she eats. She’s starting to realize that she can’t just live off of halal.

Lamborghini’s are overpriced. But I saw one the other day and was like, “ehhh, that’s kinda tight.” I’m not getting a lamb in New York.

I was going through a lot of stuff with my girl at that point. It’s about her.

The most I ever got for a show is a little bit over $100,000. It’s hard out here to be a rapper.

The hook is actually an idea that I got in my car. I come up with a lot of hooks in my car. I took a selfie video of me with the song playing and sent it to all the homies and everyone was pretty excited.
