On March 5th, 2019, CBS News released a video snippet of their interview with R&B singer R. Kelly. In it, Kelly is seen pleading a case for his innocence. This was spurred by the fact that he was charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse in February 2019. The four alleged victims were women, three of them being minors. His bail was posted by a friend, but Kelly ended up being federally indicted in July 2019 on 13 counts including child sexual exploitation, child pornography production, kidnapping, forced labor, racketeering, and obstruction of justice.

In an attempt to clear his name, he only made himself look like a fool and provided the internet with plenty of meme material.

On October 21, 2019, R&B singer Tank was interviewed on Angela Yee’s “Lip Service” podcast. During the interview, he proclaimed,

He sucked a dick once, right? And then he’s like ‘I’m not sure if I liked it or not, let me try it again.’ And then he says ‘You know what? It’s not for me…’ It doesn’t mean he’s gay. It means he sucked dick twice.

After the news reached the internet, many people attacked his stance. Because of social media’s ability to misconstrue facts and base opinions off unresearched headlines, accusations began to circulate that he was gay or bisexual.

A few days later, Tank appeared on “The Breakfast Club” to double down on his comments and provide context. He explained that he was trying to argue the difference between the act of lying versus being a liar. He was given the hypothetical scenario by Angela Yee and was only providing an answer.

If you participate in an act, that doesn’t necessarily make you part of that thing… There’s an exploration process, and this speaks to the double standard. Women are allowed to explore and play and all these things, and they don’t get boxed into a thing, and I think for men, there’s a scary thing as it pertains to being gay… It still speaks to an act versus an existence and maybe that was just too much for the internet to handle at one time.

Pushing keys refers to drug dealing and, in a literal sense, pushing keys on a keyboard. Some people resort to drug dealing to make ends meet. This may also be a reference to government agencies pushing drugs into Black communities (e.g. the CIA was involved in trafficking cocaine in Southern Los Angeles during the 1980s).

On a computer with the Windows operating system, Ctrl-Alt-Delete is the combination of keyboard keys that the user can press at the same time to terminate an application task or to reboot the operating system. Here, Add-2 is asserting that leaders try to shut down Black people and all their agendas and motives.
