This is reference to the Nas song “Project Window.”

In the song, Nas describes looking out his window into the projects. B.o.B., growing up to the music of Nas, felt like Nas' lyrics related directly to his life, as though Nas was writing lyrics while he was looking at B.o.B.

This could be a reference to the famous cover of Illmatic where it seems like Nas is looking at you.

After a leaked version surfaced, Jay released the CDQ via Twitter, while in iTunes, the track shows that it was finalized in 2011, just like “better in tune w the infinite”.

Similar to other Jay Electronica releases, the song is abundant with references to film, and wordplay that draws parallels between himself and characters within those films – the title itself is a reference to the film Road to Perdition starring Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, and Jude Law.

Louis Farrakhan is the current leader of the Nation of Islam, and is an American religious movement centering on a version of Islam particular to African-American communities.

While Kanye associates with Christianity, a deep sensibility for black culture is something himself and Farrakhan have in common. The pair are said to be working on a film project together – a documentary about Louis Farrakhan’s musical history.

Despite some speculation it´s not a sample according to Fashawn:

That’s not a sample, that’s Busta. The same time “Something To Believe In.” It was like a beautiful time man. I came back from with so much inspiration from Europe, I was out there shooting the cover with my mans out in France and doing festivals in Germany. Exile was back in America still banging out beats for the album. He’s in the lab going crazy. I’m telling them like yo the album’s done, I’m shooting he cover. Exile was like naw trust me I got this joint and he sent it over. I played it for Nas and he gives me this crazy look. He was like really? So long story short, Nas actually gives it to Busta because Busta doesn’t really know me. Nas puts Busta on to my music and Busta was thoroughly impressed. So impressed, that he decided to bless the record. Then that’s how “Out The Trunk” was born. I got to thank Nas for that and give him the credit. Shout out to Busta for killing that though. I never imagined having the cast that I have on this album. I never would have imagined it.

Although astologers are not in agreement over when the Aquarian age will start or even if it has already started; it is believed to affect mankind, possibly by influencing cultural tendencies and the rise and fall of civilisations. The aquarian age will supposedly be trademarked by major global religions, technical advances and materialism. Which pretty much fits the bill of today.

Therefore because of the Ukrainian conflict and tension between countries it could be a sign that the dawn of the age of Aquarius is upon us.

Even though he wears religions symbols doesn´t mean he believe in that particular relgion as he is torn between them and has questioned them before. As in spiritual, but not religious – you can even sense it from this verse with all kinds of different religious references.

Karrine “Superhead” Steffans was a video vixen that gained fame for her book Confessions of a Video Vixen, where she opens up about all the artists she allegedly had slept with. The list is so extensive that it´s quite the achievement not having slept with her.

Word play on her nickname as the police sucks as much as she does. Especially everything surrounding the Mike Brown and Eric Garner case.

Straight out the fucking dungeons of rap
Where fake niggas don’t make it back

If he never pursued his dream and stayed in this literal or figurative dungeon he would never have signed to Nas label, Mass Appeal, or rhymed with Rakim.
