This comment started out fairly hostile, but Trump checked himself, smiled, and finished more playfully than he began.

This was a wise audible. Attacking Megyn Kelly directly and with malice would not have played well.

Fox News opened the broadcast with a pretty awkward miscue

With the debate scheduled to begin at 9pm, they invited the candidates to the stage at 8:52.

It turned out they budgeted too much time, and the cameras kept rolling.

The hosts struggled to improvise, and after a few rough minutes Megyn Kelly finally cracked and said something like “We will now start again in a minute, at 9, when Americans expect the broadcast. We’ll do a clean start to the broadcast”

It was great!

William “Worldwide Wes” Wesley is considered one of the most influential businessmen in sports, especially basketball. “Check me” is a basketball term that means to “challenge me.” By saying “you can never check me,” Drake continues the basketball analogy by belittling Meek.

This is the second time Drake has personally mentioned Wes in a song. In his verse on Mary J. Blige’s “The One,” he says:

Wes put me on the marquee flight life
Plus I go hard for the woman that I might wife

And of course, Jay Z shouted out Wes on Drake’s “Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2”:

Shout out to World Wide Wes
Everywhere we go, we leave a worldwide mess
