‘Makaveli’ was Tupac’s alias, the nickname originates from the Italian philosopher Niccoló Machiavelli.

While in prison, Tupac got into reading political books. Tupac also read Machiavelli’s masterpieces, The Prince and The Art of War. It as a very common misconception that Machiavelli faked his death, however, there is no evidence to support this. This also contributes to many reasons of why people think Tupac faked his death.

In this line, Tupac suggests that he is going to come back from the dead (Not literally but through his music) and fight for the rights of the oppressed.

Tupac, being a poet, knows the power of symbolism, so he’s using the pouring rain to symbolise the downpour of struggle within his life.

Throughout the song, Tupac uses the theme of rain. The line ‘It seems the rain will never let up’ sets the ‘wet up’ image in the next line and the ‘it’s funny when it rains it pours’ line.
