The power Ted Haggard had made his controversy feel like a national emergency which to me was a tragedy in itself. To give one man so much power that you loose yourself when he looses himself.

I mock this idea stating “Where’s FEMA?” is it a national state of emergency? No- you should ask “Where’s your femur?” Where are your knee’s, what are you truly in submission too, man? Who are your bending down to?

This was really cryptic on purpose, I’m talking about the former Evangelical President Ted Haggard.

Known as Pastor Ted to the congregation he served, he was the founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was leader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003 until November 2006.

In November 2006, escort and masseur Mike Jones alleged that Haggard had paid him for sex for three years and had also purchased and used crystal methamphetamine.[1] A few days later Haggard resigned from all of his leadership positions.

His left hand lead a dream- which was to lead people into thinking he was one thing.

His right hand let him fean- which was leading him to his reality.

Despite both hands getting green- despite the fact that he was making a ton of money, had a ton of fame and power- it didn’t matter when it came to his right hand…

This type of violence has been going on in Colorado since the beginning.

The Ludlow Massacre was an attack by the Colorado National Guard and Colorado Fuel & Iron Company camp guards on a tent colony of 1,200 striking coal miners and their families at Ludlow, Colorado on April 20, 1914.

First time I read about this was in Howard Zinn’s “A Peoples History of the United States”.

Sons of Silence is a notorious biker gang which started in Colorado which has a a history of violence in the Springs.

The mix of the military (drawing from every city in the US) brought a lot of gangs to CO in the 80’s and 90’s, which already had it’s own, including biker gangs. There is also this mix of cowboy’s, hints of strong racism, Evangelical Christians, right wing extremists all meeting at one place…Colorado Springs.

There are states like Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona which have it’s own unique desperation and since it’s not LA, Chicago, NY, or in the “South”– it gets looked over.

Couldn’t be more clear here and I don’t feel comfortable throwing names out there, but friends and fam know what I am talking about.

There is a thin line between glorifying this history to make yourself look cool and paying homage.

You can mock me for being from Colorado, Colorado being the “box” state, you can try to “lock” me into a stereotype (Colorado cows, pasture, mountain goats haha) but the only “lock” you’ll get is the lock from Lockheed…

Lockheed has a home base in Colorado and is the leading developer of weapons for the military, very heavy, very big, and all types.
